They sent me a bill for $1,328.26 for damages to apartment after living their for 3 years without ever paying my rent late. The are making me replace the carpet for $948.26 when the apartment manager, Michelle Whitey, told me it only costs them $1,240. The life span of the carpet is only 5 years, and there was no damage to carpet, only normal wear and tear.
When I asked Michelle Whitey about how they pro-rated the bill, do they have pictures of the "damage" and about other claimed damages, she said "let me pull your file and call you right back". She never returned my call and then I finally get her on the phone a week later, she says, "let me pull your file and give you a call right back". Of course she isn't returning calls. The bill they sent said if I don't pay, they will turn my over to the debt collector. No one from Arruth Associates will take my call to discuss this issue. I've filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau in Birmingham complaint # 161577.
I've wasted a couple days just trying to get information from these people but all I get is promises that they will call me back.
