I received a letter in the mail along with a check for $3850.00 stating i had won a comsumer promotion sweepstakes. The $3850 was suppose to be from the $50,000 i had won and i was suppose to deposit the check and send a check for $1920 for taxes and then i would receive a check for the balance of my prize. The two names were "marvin anderson & linda robinson". The check is from a willowbend nursing & rehab ctr.in mesquite texas which is apparently a real nursing home. The letter i received was from a citi financial also in texas. The check is also a bank of america check from walnut, california.
This sent up a big red flag because my husband & i were scammed like this once before and were dumb enough to believe it & we lost $1020.. So i checked this out first and sure enough it is a scam.
It is pretty sad that when people are having such hard times and have already lost alot there are horrible people like this who scam innocent people! What a shame!
