I was at the airport in Anchorage, AK, and my cell phone wasn't working. I finally found a pay phone and it said local calls were 50 cents, but I didn't have any change, so used a credit card, and found when I saw my bill that they charged me $26.75 for a 1 minute local call.
I called the number on my credit card bill and talked to Jason, who wouldn't give me his last name, and he basically said that was a resonable charge. I told him I would dispute it through my credit card company, but since I don't have a receipt, it might be hard.
