My name is darlene harper, i was employed with jackson hewitt tax services since about 2004 on a seasonal bases. Since employed with jackson hewitt, there were different district managers, barbara mininingham, cassandra, angela williams, and ms. R. Harrel. I am not for sure about the correct spelling of the names but, since i was employed i have always worked with jackson hewitt from january to the end of the tax season in april, and i always had received a bonus but, when victoria santana became the district manager i have not worked to the ending date of april 15th tax season. Victoria santana discriminated against me because of my age. She falsely accused me of doing something that i did not do. She tried to threaten me by calling the owner of jackson hewitt and cassandra, and she also threatened to call the customer on me. Because she falsely accused me of doing something that she knew that i did not do, she verbally and mentally abused me with racial slurs. She called me names when i asked her for assistance with a tax question. She tells me to that you have a office manager so you have to ask her (kathryn gonzalez) so, whenever i asked kathryn gonzalez she never knew the answer; she had to ask victoria santana for the answer. I feel that i was discriminated against with my age being over 40 years of age. On feb 13. I was falsely accused of putting documents in the customers folders. But, victoria had the documents in her possesion the entire time, what is wrong with this lady. I hear that she did the same thing to a former employee that use to work for jackson hewitt tax services. She feels that she can treat people any type of way and she keeps getting away with it, i made a complaint about what victoria did to me on february 17 and i was wrongfully terminated on the same day at 5:35 pm. Also i learned that all taxpreparers have to sign all documents on the taxpreparers signature line so i always sign my signature on the lines for the taxpreparers but, the office manager, kathryn gonzales tried to stop me from signing my signature on all taxpreparers signature line, i told her that i am trying to protect my self so, i will always sign my signature. I informed victoria santana but, she agreed with the office manager, what is wrong with them, i learned about this in training class. They wanted me to leave my signature blank so that they could use that against me. Victoria told me one day that i was doing good work on the job and she also told me that i was real good with the customers, victoria allowed the office manager to keep a cluttered dirty desk stack with all types. But, the other workers desk was always neat. She allowed the office manager to come to work dressed inapproriately, whenever i needed help with a customer return, she tells me that i should know these things because i took the training class and when i walk away she mumbles racial slurs. Calling me a old black bitch. She had a problem with my age but, when the office manager asked her for help, she helped her with no problem and with no negative feedback, and watched her complete her work. Also, i was in the training class and i asked victoria several times to help me with the scenario. But, she sat in her seat at her desk as if she never heard me talking to her. So, i stopped asking her for help. But when the office manager asked victoria for assistance with her scenarios she rushed over to the office main computer to help her. She is racist and she has a problem with older workers 40 and over... I loss wages and i also loss my bonus because victoria santana had a problem with me. She did not like me and she treated me unfairly from the other workers. I always received a bonus but, when victoria became the district manager. I made a complaint against victoria because i was falsely accused and verbally and mentally abused. I feel that i was discriminated against because of my age, race and i was wrongfully terminated. There were two witnesses in the office on feb 13m 2012 who heard and saw everything what victoria did to me when she falsely accused me, yelled at me and then pulled out the papers that she had the entire time, i asked her when she showed me the papers... Where did you get the papers from? She stated these words to me... I don't know, i was shocked, confused, angry and i am still having flash backs of that day. Also, on the following day on feb 14 victoria santana had kathryn gonzales the officer to print me out the weekly schedule that i had to sign for the first time, i never had to sign the weekly schedule before. I noticed that my hours was reduced and noticed the other employee hours were increased... I was so hurt and angry because my hours and days was reduced. This was the day after the incident when victoria falsely accused me and i tried to defend myself. I suffered stress since the incident.
