I was getting ready to eat dinner when the phone rang. A heavy accented indian person was on the phone and stated that he was from microsoft and there is a serious problem with my computers. He claimed to be monitoring my computer right now and he was able to see that an intruder was infecting my windows 7 system right now. He instructed that i should go to my computer at once and he started instructed me what to push, in a matter of 20 seconds he had full control of my computer and my key board wouldn, t work. He was bringing up 100 and 100's of files showing me that the person had infected them but we can stop him. I told him that i had a top anti virus, hack proove protection in my computer. The norton 360 (5.0). He again stated that he was from microsoft and that he is telling me that my system let in 28,000. Corrupt files and did nothing against the trojan virus. He said he could stop him and correct all the viruses for 199.00. I told him that was alot of money. He said that's nothing when your fixing three computers. He then removed my norton protection. When i objected he stated that he had to do this. He then rushed me to give him my credit card info and after all was said and done he informed me that when i recieve my credit statement it will show global connect. When i questioned this he said the reason for that is because they are microsoft but are based in india. The bottom line is that there was never anything wrong with my computers. I checked the other two and there was nothing wrong with them. No virus, no trojan, and nobody was hacking into my system and my norton security was working perfct. When i checked my computer which this so called microsoft tech took control over i found that he installed an avg anti virus protection, which i could have purchased at best buy for 29.95.
If your lucky enough to speak with someone from this company and as soon as you question them they either put you on hold or hang up on you. There is no toll free number.
This whole operation is nothing but another one of there misrepresentation of a product that doesn't exist. This company is involved in numerous types of scams.
