This fellow advertised a vacation rental on Craigslist and I inquired about it. He sent me a rental application for the apartment and asked me to send him a wire transfer of $1000.00, half of which he said would be used as security deposit and the other half as 50% payment of rent. I asked to pay by PayPal but he said his account couldnt be used. I asked to fax him something and he said his machine was not in working order. When I went to the bank to make the wire transfer, the bank needed me to supply more information. I contacted Lester Gold by email and he instructed me to send the funds to his "accountant". At that point, I figured this was too messy and i cancelled the wire transfer, went home and googled "lester gold" scam. I found several postings about this guy's name and his innumerable scams. I suppose there are many others out there like him.
