Consumer Report

This is a follow up to my post about the $6000 in credit card money that was taken from me and hopefully is being returned from my credit card company.

I just called the Mayan Palace which is where I own my Timeshare that they were suppose to purchase from me. TheMayan Palace is aware of this scam but did not have the specifics of them using the Mango Club as the operation center. The person I spoke to, Chris, knew of John Monte and his reputation. He confirmed that the unit at the Venetian is actually owned by John Monte, so there is not a word of truth to them having units to sell there. He also knew the name of Jerry Forney (I got from Kathe's post) and was shocked to hear of it. Now that he has the name of the Mango, he has something to work with as before most people had just had contact out of the Houston office of Continental Resources. He said these people are very professional and change their company names fast. He said the right thing to do is to file a complaint with the Texas Attorney General's office. Apparently the AGs office needs to see $1 million worth of complaints before they will act on the information. I also have a number of the AG's office and they can connect you to the Houston office-512-463-2185. If everyone starts calling them and giving the same information then perhaps it will wake them up. The Mayan Palace has clout in Mexico so perhaps they can put the necessary pressure on the local authorities to close this operation down. I recommend that everyone contact your own timeshare company and ask them to alert their members to this scam.
