Rocky Mountain Towing Company, Inc in Laramie, WY was called by Highway Patrol to tow my semi-truck w/trailer to a repair shop. The tow truck driver instead insisted on towing it to their companies yard, why? So they can get more money! After talking to highway patrol and convincing the tow truck company to tow it to my repair shop of choice, Rocky Mountain Towing Company delivered me an invoice for $1700! This is an insane overcharge! It seems to me that in order to make any profit the company needs to scavenge Interstate 80 for truckers to overcharge. I have been in the trucking business for 20 years, had my trucks towed multiple times, avg price for standard tow is $400-700 max.By the way, they don't accept credit cards, so to all fellow truck drivers of America, when you drive on I-80 Eastbound/Westbound through Laramie, WY, it is best to have $2000 in cash ready and pray you do not breakdown, and if you do, DO NOT work with Rocky Mountain Towing Company, Inc, because at these rates, they just might be the most expensive towing company in America.
