2 charges were pending on my checking account. My bank refused one of the charges, but the second charge of $81.75 was deducted from my checking account. Had my bank not interceded, the damages would have been $162.50; although, I'm left with a worse problem now. My debit card for my checking account has been frozen for fraudulent activity. I'm attempting to recover my money from brain hoist in Ohio as instructed by my bank. When I speak with the operator at the one 800 number, they have no record of the charge, and they can't even tell me what was purchased. My bank informed me that if I tried in good faith to retrieve the money, and was unsuccessful, I would then have to order a new debit card (probably a week and a half). During this time the bank would supply papers for me to send to the company to dispute the charges.
I am paralyzed from the shoulders down. A task such as this could have been completed in about a half-hour for most people. You could imagine how much more difficult it becomes for someone like myself-I have to use voice recognition. This whole process is very complex and frustrating. I read a complaint earlier a college student could not believe they would try to take his money. As you can see, if they would take it from a quadriplegic in a wheelchair they know no boundaries of decency. After the complaint here, I intend to file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission FTC, and I suggest we all do the same. Thank you.
