Ok... I reserved a uhaul online and called to confirm the reservation.
I was told it was good to go, when i arrived at the Uhaul store (durham nc) i was greeted by an annoyed employee who said they were closed (it was 445) so after asking him a million times to please just rent me a truck, he caves and grumbles a lot and gives me a truck. I was very grateful and signed the papers saying that there was a half a tank of gas in the truck when i received it. No one told me where i should or should not park my car while i use the Uhaul.
I go to the truck and turn it on and there is less than a quarter of a tank of gas!!! I try to go back inside and tell them and they have already high tailed it outta there! Soooo, now i start driving the truck and realize that this dude gave me this truck on purpose! It was a death trap, the brakes were stuck, the engine roared really loud and it screeches to a complete stop whenever you TAP the break pedal.
I finally got my stuff moved and went to return the truck, there was a a huge line of trucks to be returned so i park my uhaul at the end of the line and go to get my car... Guess what? Since they didnt tell me where to park, my car is blocked in by uhauls and curbs... I get to drive my nice new car over the curb while sobbing afraid that my car was gonna bottom out... I complain to the store manager, he laughs at me and tells me he will investigate further. Nothing happened. Then i complain to uhaul and keep getting the run around. No one there is interested in customer service, correcting problems or the safety of their customers.
I am beyond angry and need some resolution.
