Diamond Resorts International representative promised the world when we were lured to sign up and purchase additional points from them while visiting our time share unit at Poipu Point, Hawaii in November. They had just purchased the Poipu Point from another time share company. A year later and after we had sent in our already substantial maintenence fee they refused to allow us to reserve any units and out of the blue they needed thousands more in order to pay for some water intrusion project at Poipu Point. I am absolutely sure they new about that prior to purchasing the project through their Due Deligent physical inspection of the entire property. I am also sure they have received a discount or credit in escrow to cover any deferred maitenance repairs including water intrusion repair cost.
Now in my opinion Diamond Resorts is going after the memebership for a second dipping to collect for cost they already received money for and should be resposible for the repairs. They must have planned this all along from day one during the purchase process. They even tried to bill me and collect from me based on the additional points I just purchsed even though it had nothing to do with the fee simple ownership in the Poipu Point resort.
I will be happy to sign up for any class action with the other owners to stop this in my opinion criminal action of the company. I would also like to see the Better Business agencies and even the Federal Govenment investigate the national and international dealings of this comany.
