Received a collection notice from YCCS about a balance that was paid in full in 2008. The disputed amount was $353.00 and was paid to Stonegate Apartments. The management (Katrina) informed me that I would need to provide proof that I paid the balance from 2008. After spending $36.00 on copies of old bank statements from a closed account that took the bank over 2 days to locate, I called and gave the check numbers to Katrina at Stonegate and to my surprise she looked at her records and located the checks. I can not believe that a company can send people to collections without even sending a bill to them informing of an unpaid debt. Stonegate did not contact me by mail or phone. My excellent credit could have very easily been damaged due to bad record keeping and note even an apology was given. I received nothing but rude behavior on her part and treated as tho I never paid the bill.
