We bought rotisserie chicken from the Ponte Vedra store on Sunday evening on March 11th, The chicken is for our two dogs, they were given chicken on Monday morning the 12th, by the evening they were very ill, they were vomiting and had diarrhea, they threw up on every piece of furniture that we have, they became very listless and I took them to my vet, he proceeded to do blood work, fecal analysis, they had to have fluid therapy because they were dehydrated from vomiting. They also had to be given medications for nausea, and anitbiotics, needless to say I am upset beyond belief. The total of our bill came to 298.36. I wsa old I would get a call first thing in the morning, around 4pm I did get a call from Ross the store manager, he asked for the chicken back and my husband brought it back, I got a call the next day saying that Winn Dixie would not pay our bill and was offered a 50.00 gift card, which I declined because I will never shop at your store again, and we spent thousands at your store every month. That is all my dogs ate that day and it was your chicken that mad them so sick. Your response is to ignore and refuse to pay our vet bill, which would have been the right thing to do. I have told everyone that I know about this incident and have asked them not to shop at your store. You are in the wrong and for you to pay 298.36 is nothing. We are extremely upset, my dogs are still on medication and since you chose that path, I feel that I need to continue to spread the word about how you got my animals sick, maybe peta would be interested or Ken amarro on the news.
