Consumer Report

My wife and I were mailed an advertisement, from Ultimate Executive Travel, for a complimentary 7 day cruise.in order to get the cruise we were required to attend a 90 minute seminar with Worldwide Travel (company affiliated with Ultimate Executive Travel). After attending the seminar we were given a voucher, and were told that we would need to send in a money order or cashiers check in the amount of $248.00 in order to utilize the vacation voucher. We were also informed that there would be mandatory port fees and taxes, but no specific amounts were mentioned. After submitting a payment for $248.00, we were informed that port fees and taxes would be $399.00 per person. Upon further investigation we discovered that port fees and taxes for comparable cruises are approximately $75-$100 per person on the average. Once we discovered this information, it became clear that this is a SCAM and it is cheaper to book a cruise directly through the cruise-line, or any local travel agent. Thus, what appeared to be a complimentary 7 day cruise was actually a more expensive alternative to a travel agent. When a refund for the original $248.00 was requested, it was denied. This is a scam. DO NOT send them any money because you will not get it back.
