Associated Accounting of Florida
Consumer Report

Associated Accounting of Florida called my cell phone numerous times with a promise a promise to lower the interest rates on all my credit cards to an average of 3%-6%. I spoke with them about their program and they faxed me over the paperwork to review and discuss with my spouse. Even though I never signed their paperwork and spoke with my spouse immediately after speaking with them, they went ahead and charged my VISA $1499.00 while we were on the phone. (Apparently this is what they are doing while they say they're going to put you on a brief hold to see if you qualify for their program). Whatever charge card you tell them that's not maxed out, that's the one they use to charge their fee. I spoke with Associated Accounting again within 15 minutes of our initial conversation, told them I had discussed with my spouse and we were not willing to pay $1499 for their interest lowering program and did not wish to participate and most importantly, would not be returning any signed paperwork. They promised to issue a a full refund to the card they had put their fee on (This was on 2/28). I then called my credit card company to advise what had transpired, and to be on the look out for a charge followed by a credit from Associated Accounting as I was promised a full refund within 24-72 hours. (Amazing isn't it that they were able to charge my card within seconds but it takes that long to issue a refund). My credit card company said they would initiate a dispute of this charge on my behalf and that I could call the company back to inquire about WHEN my credit would be issued. I've been told twice now by a manager named Greg Stevens that a credit would be issued within 24-72 hours and it still has not been done as of today, March 14. They have numerous phone numbers, a few of which are 877-982-7526 and 772-344-2556. The charge will show up on your credit card statement as "Associated Accounting" or "Associated Accounting of Florida". Once you speak with them, they automatically charge any card that has the credit availability of their fee and you will play heck to get it back. The only way I've found is to dispute it with your credit card company. However, this takes time and while you have this $1499 charge on your account, it ties up your credit limit. Beware of Associated Accounting of Florida!!!
