We hired Nationwide Relocation to move our belongings from Colorado to Kentucky. We had an estimate from them for $2,984.00 and paid a deposit of $1215.46 We were told that we would get a phone call 48 to 24 hours before pick up, this did not happen, we got a 2 hour notice - and that the balance would be due upon arrival of our furniture in Kentucky. When the movers arrived it was a sub-contractor, who made us pay an additional $850.00 before they would start packing anything. Then we get a phone call on March 7th saying that we owe $3,000 and need to pay 70% of that or our furniture will not be put on a truck to Kentucky. We have gone back and forth with them for the past two days, and the owner of Nationwide called yesterday and said that he was personally going to see that our possessions were put on one of his trucks and that we owned no more money and that $350 of the $850 we paid would be refunded. Today he calls and claims that conversation never took place and that he has hired another company to move our things and that they should be here within a week. At this time I have no idea where my furniture is or how much they are going to try and take me for, when and if my possessions show up.
