My parents who are in their 80's received a notice from Sure Financial Inc. Telling them they had won a $250,000 prize. Enclosed was a check for $3,450 which they were to cash after calling to validate the winnings. Then they were to send $3,100 as a processing fee for the prize money. I am so glad they called me.
I am a retired police officer and knew instantly this was a scam. I called the toll free number and spoke with an illiterate guy who sounded like he was in a hotel room in Kenya or somewhere by his accent. I told him I was aware of the scam and was reporting it. I notice the names of the contact people are the same as the earlier reports of this scam, but the phone number has changed.
I called the one posted on the earlier alerts and the recording said the number had been "canceled." Everything else was the same, Otis Sprinkler Co., on and on. I cannot believe people fall for these, but my parents really thought they had won something... I did have fun with Mustafa or whoever it was on the other end of the phone line.
