I am still battling with ProTel Communications about the charges that went unnoticed on my account for 3months, due to GoTech Financial.

Luckily, I got on to the BBB website a few hours after the strange phone call I recieved from GoTech... Somehow they got my direct line at work. I was under the impression that because they had almost all of my account information already, that they represented my bank, and that I was being offered a credit card if I paid a startup fee of $219.00. WRONG!

Once I found out what the BBB had to say, which I will post below, I immediately called the number that they had provided me with to cancel if I chose to do so. Well they wouldn't let me do it. They said that they cannot stop the transaction once it has been processed.

So I called my bank (I love Bank of America) and they apologized and were very heartfelt about my ordeal. They waived the stop payment fee for this "transaction" and issued a new Visa Check Card shortly after. I thought that it was done... I never recieved anything from GoTech again... Ahhhh I stopped those greedy bastards in their tracks! Not So Fast.

Along comes ProTel Communications (Professional Telecommunications, inc.) Apparently I lost my mind after that incident, because I failed to notice 2 previous transactions on my account made by this company. I noticed the 3rd.

I immediately called my bank, because I love them, and they told me that I needed to cancel immediately, and that they would send the claim paperwork in the mail. It's on its way now.

So I started corresponding via e-mail w / this company, explaining that I did not aggree to this and that they needed to refund my money immediately. I don't even have a home phone!

They corresponded in all caps (everytime) and were very very rude. I am interested in filing suit against them if anyone wants to help (although I have no money for an attorney). I do not believe that you can charge my account as you already have. If necessary, I will seriously file a complaint with the BBB, and that is not an idle threat, it is a serious declaration.
Please Call Sprint and verify that this is not a home phone because
I DO NOT HAVE A HOME PHONE! I do not have the number that was "given to me". I did not use your service. Why in gods name would I not cancel if I had known about these charges? The phone number you have on file IS my cell phone.
Would it make ANY sense to order this service even though I have free long distance? I think not.
As I recall, I specifically TOLD Go-TECH that I did not need that service, and that I did not have a home phone. How many times do I have to tell you that I was not aware of the charges, and that I never used your service to begin with? Wouldn't you have records of the amount of calls made with your plan?
At this point, it means little to me what the recording states, because I did file a report with my banking institution regarding all charges RELATED to the original transaction with Go-Tech. If you take this from a business standpoint, it's not as though you are losing any money, because I NEVER USED YOUR SERVICE! Please Comply with my request Immediately!

please call our customer service department and ask to hear your recording.

It says in our recording to use our service dial from your "home" phone.
it also mentions how much you will be charged if the trial period lapses.
we did provide with a cancellation number to call and cancel "during" your 15 day trail period.
go-tect can not cancel our customers, that's why we provide our cancellation number in the recording you had said yes to.

There is no refund on this acct.

I knew it had something to do with them. See, I do not have a home phone, so these charges are not even applicable. Also, I called my bank and stopped all charges RELATED to the Go-Tech financial group after I read quite a few reports AGAINST them through The Better Business Bureau. Also, I believe that this company, Go-Tech financial, somehow got me into this without my knowing. I cancelled what I thought to be EVERY aspect of the plan they had to send me a packet of information about the services I would be provided with, as well as their credit card services. They were to send a packet with information in it, which I assume contained the number to cancel with your company, but because I cancelled, it was never relieved. A stop payment was put on my account for the electronic check, and my bank is fully aware of all aspects of the reason for the cancellation. I will get the precise date for the stop payment that shows that I am not responsible for the charges due to the fact that I cancelled everything with Go-Tech Financial, and they and ProTel NEVER sent any information even stating that I even had this service, or how to cancel it. Please understand, and have these charges credited back to my account today.

Thank you for your email, perhaps I can let you know what had happened... On 3/24/04 you had spoke to a company named Go-Tec Financial, in that phone call was offered our 15 day free trial of long distance, that you have said "yes" to (recording # 1416234) however, the trial period was never cancelled, so the billing to your acct. Started, per terms and conditions on the recording. I can cancel you acct. However I see you have taken care of that on 6/19/04 through our automated system. If we can be of any assistence playing your voice recording, please feel free to call us during the hours of
9AM to 5PM (EST) Monday thru Friday.

I do not recall EVER signing up for ANY service from your company, but you are debiting my account monthly. I am submitting a claim with my banking institution to have all funds put back into my account. I do not even have a home phone, therefore there is absolutely no reason for these charges to be posted to my account. I believe that someone may have used my account information against my request, unless there is proof otherwise, but there is no reason for me to even have been using a cell phone for service since January, and our land line services were disconnected in November. We also do not have internet service. I apologize for being angry, but I think that my frustration is understandable. *PLEASE EXPLAIN ASAP! * *please cancel all pending charges! *
