Received call from husband's nephew who lives in Puerto Rico and he told me he had a job offer in Greensboro, NC and could we pick him up at the airport. Gave me date, carrier, time and flight no. For Saturday evening 2/11. Approximately 2 hrs later he called in a panic and said they had detained him at the airport because he forgot to declare some money he was bringing to a job he had been offered to purchase some computers. He said they were asking him to pay a fine of $500.00 but he couldn't use the money he had because they took it. I hadn't seen him in a long time. When my husband arrived he asked me to send it to him. I sent the money via Western Union to Berenice Figueroa Gonzales, whom I was told was in charge of the money. I wanted to speak to my nephew to find out why he was in Mexico and not Puerto Rico but they said he was detained and was only allowed that one phone call he made to me earlier. They called back several hours later to inform that when they were going to return the money they had found 5- $100.00 dollar bills that were false and another request to send them more money and so on and so on. Stupid me sent another $100.00 today 2/12 again via Western Union. When they called again I said that's it "put him in jail". I called his sister (which I should have done earlier but my husband said he wanted to help him and not involve the rest of the family and he would straighten it out with him when he arrived here. My husband is 80 yrs old and in poor health and I did not want to get him more upset than he already was, so I obliged. After calling his sister she gave me the nephew's phone number in Puerto Rico and sure enought he was home and was totally shocked (not more than me). I have names and a phone number I was given from the man claiming to be the Custom's Commander - Carlos Tranquilio Nicolas. The phone number I have is (Personal Info Removed). He called again and requested more money and I said no.
