I foolishly signed up for a trial membership of Shoppers Advantage in order to get $40 reward. The alleged membership package never came, and they started charging a monthly fee ($8) to my credit card right away before the trial period ended.
I didn't notice the charge until two statements later, then called immediately to cancel the membership. The automatic billing of the membership fee stopped (very fortunate) but the refund of two months worth of membership fee was never posted. At first they said withint 10-15 business days, then 2 billing cycles.
After all that had passed, I called again, got another cancellation number, and was told to wait again 10-15 business days or 2 billing cycles. As of now the refund has not been posted, and I don't think it's ever gonna happpen. But I'll keep trying. It's really more about principles than money.
