Wheelchair Policy

Dear management office of Aventura Mall: I live close to the Aventura mall, and until very recently, I enjoyed going to the mall for my shopping and entertaining. However I was diagnosed with ALS and now it is very difficult for me going to the mail. This is because I can barely walk and I need a wheelchair to move around or a scooter. The last two occasions I have gone there, my daughter had to look for the wheelchair after crossing all the Macys store since the chairs are at the end of the entrance of Macys. This is totally ridiculous! I had to stay in my car on the parking lot waiting like 20 minutes until she or my husband got the chair.

You should have the wheelchairs on the valet parking available for people with disabilities. I attended to a meeting of the Muscular Dystrophy association and they encourage me to make this complaint. I’m a member of that association and we find completely unfair the way you are handling the entrance of the mall for disabled people. Even one member at the meeting told me that you shouldn’t charge the valet parking for disabled people since we have no choice but to use that service. You have to Imagine if something happened to a person with disabilities while waiting on the parking lot for the wheelchair. You could get into a lot of trouble.
