Got a call this AM from alleged grandson. We thought it was him. Said he had an acident in Buenos Aires, Argentina and he needed $5500 to pay damages to court before he could return home to Virginia. Gave me the name of an international lawyer (Michelle Roberts, 1201 Ocean Ave in Buenos Aires.) We wired $5500, $276 fee. He called again to get the Western Union ID number. Called back agoin to say that he got the number, but needed another $3400 to pay medical costs. I called his Dad and he also went to WU to wire money. However his wife checked on the son's status and found he was at home and never went to Buenos Aires. They were able to cancel the wire and didn't pay it. We were convinced the call came from our grandson; called us by our nicknames and knew all about the family.
