Consumer Report

In June, I became very ill, and wound up in a rehab center for a year learning how to walk. My husband and I own a home in Queens, NY. The loan is owned by Wells Fargo and serviced by Ocwen. When we were told I would never be able to do stairs again, we knew we would have to move. We explained all this to Ocwen and put our house on the market with Remax. After some time, and I waS BEING RELEASED from rehab, we were forced to ask for a Short Sale and left the house in the hands of the realator. We owe 356,000 and was offered $320,000. We entered into contract with the new buyer in July. Ocwen requested several copies of the same paperwork over and over again. My agent, lawyer, and ourselves sent whatever they requested every time. After many, many, meetings and phone calls, the realator fin allywas told the request was denied back in October. It is now. January and with the cold weather a pipe broke and caused extensive damage. Also, there was a gas leak and the fire dept took out a window to get in.insurance company says it is a mess.

My point is why did ocwen not tell anyone that the short sale was rejected in October thus causing damage to the house and the loss of the sale? All this could have been avoided had Ocwen been honest.

We have now requested an In Lieu of Deed. My realator does not understand how Ocwen could do all this damage and be so dishonest.

I would appreciate any help you might have to offer.
