I went to ICDC College looking for a career.
I had been unemployed for a couple of years due to my child being disabled and having to become a constant care provider. I walked in, spoke to a admissions rep. About the drug and alcohol counseling program. At that time, I could not prove that I had a GED already which would only take a few weeks to get mailed to me at a cost of course. So I was encouraged to participate in the H.S. Diploma program... At a cost of course. I agreed and passed at the top of the class and was rushed and hurried through the financial assistance program (huge loans and grants).
I participated in class for a year and passed with a 4.0 grade level - and I also completed the "externship program" which is basically free labor to an agency for experience hours.
After I completed everything and went to their job placement agents (which was emphatically touted as the best and most successful in Southern California free of charge to students) I was basically pushed to the side. I was unemployed and facing a huge debt from the school loans which I could not pay because the "job placement agents" could not place me. I was encouraged to get my loans deferred by furthering my education and continuing with the Associated Degree program. I was promised that it was a two year program and that the course work was at my own pace, only a couple hours per day and no weekend work. I was lured in by false statements and promises of better job placement opportunity, and an opportunity to continue to seek employment/secure employment while accomplishing an Associates Degree. Because I had already completed a year of course work it was only supposed to take typically another 11 months to complete the program... But it never went that way.
I was bombarded with assignments every day 7 days a week with multiple complex assignments due by the end of each day. This went on for 18 months... And I have still yet to complete the program. At the very end of the program when I supposedly only had 2 weeks left, I was expelled from the program and terminated as a student. They had me sign a stafford loan 4 times for the same school year which I thought was suspicious - and I still owe money to the school - they sent me a bill for over $9,000.00
These people have no explanation for their actions, and act like thugs when you go to the school administration to try and amicably solve a problem. They seem to lie and conceal a lot of information that is not disclosed at the time of signing the contract.
Oh, and by the way... The H.S. Diploma that they forced me to acquire is bogus. It's just a piece of paper that they printed off of the computer and worth nothing. The school that the "Diploma" is supposedly from is Century High School of Santa Monica and they are not an accredited High School and no other honorable college or higher education institution will accept or honor it.
So in summary... Pretty much I have been robbed by the mob and am being extorted moneys to pay for a worthless amount of bogus education that is not honored any where except through their agency and their dishonest patrons. These people are obviously part of some type of organized crime. Please be ware of their deception and lies... Beware of the wolf in sheep's clothing.
P.S. I'm still unemployed and with no viable hope of employment in the field that I studied under ICDC College. And I know of others (former students) that are suffering the same fate.
