I did a VIN search, agreeing to pay $2.95. Whenever I received my bank statement, I had been debited $29.95. When I called the toll free number, the phone did not ring. Being suspicious I stayed on the line and eventually someone answered. I told the man, whom I could not understand, that I wanted a refund. He told me I could not receive a 100% refund, only a 50% refund. I asked for his supervisor, he said his supervisor was not available. I told him I did not want to talk to him, but someone on a supervisory level. Then I told him that my bank intended to press charges against him for an unauthorized charge made by them. All of a sudden he placed me on hold to speak with his 'superior.' When he returned, I was told they had credited the $29.95. I had to threaten legal action against them. My advice is for anyone who has been scammed to do the same.
