Consumer Report

I clicked on a legitimate looking link, http://uggs.co.uk, advertising Turquoise Uggs for a reduced sale of $90.00. My daughter had wanted these for Christmas and the deal was hard to pass up! This site looked genuine and I assumed I was purchasing from one of their vendors in England. "Australia" was labeled in the far upper left-hand corner. I browsed through the site, looking at several pairs of Ugg shoes. The selection was by all accounts normal! I did not initally buy anything, but after much thought, I decided to return to the authentic-looking site two days later and begin the process of purchasing the boots.

Immediately, the sale went through. A pop-up alerted me $ was deducted from my card! I was shocked and then disheartened when I tried to retrace my steps and couldn't retrieve proof of the purchase. What's more, I never received an email confirming the sale! To add to my misery, I immediately got notification from my credit card to contact them immediately about the purchase. It came from China and they were concerned about the transaction. China? I thought I ordered them through a site in England...

My cc company closed my account to prevent further charges. They stated they would look into the matter and be in touch. Well, 6 days later, don't I get a hideously fake pair of Uggs, wrapped in a plastic bag inserted in a very poorly packaged plain, brown box from CHINA. I contacted my cc company, who then proceeded to tell me to return the boots. How? There was no return receipt, no order confirmation, or address to return the boots. With no way to contact the merchant, how was I supposed to return them? This company knows what they are doing, leaving behind an untraceable trail of fraud.

I have been working with my cc company for 7 weeks now. They have supposedly contacted the merchant on my behalf, who state they made good on a sale and that I have not made any attempt to return the boots for credit. My cc company provided me with the business website of http://www.saleflashlight.com in an attempt to get an address to return the boots. Look it up - they sell, are you ready for this, flashlights! Additionally, this bogus company claims to have sold the boots to me for $4 cheaper than they charged my card, despite the currency exchange adjustment.

I am still waiting for resolution and will NOT back down until I get my money back. And the boots? They are in my closet waiting to be returned, a painful reminder of how easily people can be scammed, even honest, intelligent ones like me. Buyer beware. They should be shut down, and SOON.
