Called Citibank for a promotional CC offer. After applying for the CC a recorded message stated to call 1-888-210-4523. I thought I was calling Citibank but instead it was "assist 123". I was told I was selected to recieve a 500 grocery certificate. After telling them 3 times NO they talked me into agreeing to charge my CC 14.95. After getting an "authorization # for my purchase" and a phone number (1-877-534-5252) to cancel the "grocery saving club" at any time, they gave me the phone # to Citibank which was 1-800-555-1212 which happens to be just a nationwide directory. I called the 877 534-5252 and wanted to know what was going on. I was told they had no idea what I was talking about. I called Citibank to report this and canceled my CC. I then reported this whole incident to the FTC, put a fraud alert on my credit report just in case. FTC gave me a reference #. If anyone has this same problem contact the FTC and report it.
