I purchased airline tickets online from Volaris Airline. The Citibank fraud department called me immediately and questioned the charge. I said I wanted the charge to go through because I needed and wanted the tickets. I did not know the charge had not gone through until, after several days, I did not receive an email confirmation from the airline. I called Citibank to see if the charge had gone through, and it had not. I had to repurchase the tickets at double the price.
I called Citibank and, after talking with three customer service reps, was told that Citibank would split the difference, each of us paying $120, in the cost of the tickets and give me 5,000 air miles. It is not fair that I should have to pay more plus additional finance charges, when all the fraud department needed to do when they called was tell me to go back online and purchase the tickets and the charge would go through. I would like to add that I purchased tickets on Volaris a few months earlier and there was not a problem.
I have been a Citibank customer for more than 18 years, but I don't know how much longer I can be loyal with treatment like this.
