Hiding behind policy

Purchased 2 refurbished uniden cordless phones on line, as the store did not stock them. I purchased the refurbished to save money and the fact they were inspected and working. The were installed in two different homes. Both had problems with poor sound quality and dropped calls from day one. I down-loaded and printed 70 pages of the user manual and followed all the troubleshooting suggestions. Nothing worked and Best Buy did't have any more in stock so I purchased 2 new panisonic sets. Before installing again I precharged the phones. They worked perfect. On returning the phones I was told they were out of the 30 day window. After 25 minutes in the store they offered In-store credit. They refused to credit my credit card. The phones were defective, it wasn't a case of buyer remorse. Doesn't give me any confidence to buy from them. It not surprising their loosing their market share. They are forgettting the customer when they really have a problem. If it's not within their "policy" you are out of luck. They hide behind "policy" and expect you to purchase extended warranties to pad their bottom line. Beware
