I ordered two Remington Wet-to-Dry straighteners from Pink Discount, for delivery to Cyprus. A couple of days later I received an email saying that they had got the delivery charge to Cyprus wrong on their website and so would have to charge and extra $32 dollars to my card, or if I wanted to I could cancel the order and get a refund. I chose to have a refund because the extra cost meant it was no longer a good deal.
This was a month ago, and to date I still have not received the refund. The most worrying thing is that they do not respond to any of my emails nor did they return my call - I left a message on their answer machine which promised they would get back to me in 24 hours. I do not know what else to do. They just won't reply to me.
A decent company would have admitted that they were at fault in the first place for stating an incorrect delivery charge, and perhaps even delivered the goods to me at the agreed price. This company however seems very far from decent and strikes me as a totally inept organisation which does not care at all about its customers. To add insult to injury, I see today that they have reduced the price of the item I ordered by quite a substantial amount. Do not be tempted though.in all the years I have been buying things online this is the first time that I have had such trouble. It weighs on my mind all the time and I check my emails constantly to see if by some miracle they have written to confirm that the refund will be made.
How can they be allowed to get away with this? I want to take this matter further and would appreciate some advice on the most appropriate US authority to contact.
