We bought a car in 9/08 for $26,500 and to date we still owe $26,500 after 36 months of payments, because all the payment is being applied to interest first, with less than $75 per payment being applied to the loan. Interest-first loans are illegal in the state of Maryland, and when I confronted Santander, they stated they can apply the payments as they see fit. Stay away from Santander Finance Company, aka Drive Financial!
