My mother received a call from Social Service Coordinators. They got her to give them her soc. Sec. Number, bank info and birthdate & a copy of her ID. They are saying they will get her extra coverage and or get her 3 months back that she overpaid in medicare. They are saying its a free service that they offer through aarp. However when I spoke to 2 people only one could give me a straight answer. The first number 888-528-9488 that I called was very rude and told me to call 800-804-9705. The second number then told me if I thought it was a scam to call AARP. I called AARP immediately and was told this was a scammer company and we filed a report at that point. AARP said thier company and companies that do work with them will never ask for that information. AARP then told me to contact the police.
