After a few months of deliberating as to which medicare health program i would select, i signed up for aarp secure horizons medicare complete hmo. Complete is inclusive of the prescription drug plan.
A few days ago i received from aarp medicare rx plans insured through united healthcare a form to fill out for the prescription drug plan at miscellaneous costs in addition to my current medicare payment with deductibles noted. It also included a prescription drug card.
I was floored and worried about this as the prescription drug plan was suppose to be inclusive in my secure horizons plan and i could not afford any more money be taken out of my social security!
I called the phone number listed on the brochure and the representative stated that this is only another option for prescription drugs through medicare.
I told him that as far as i am concerned with the confusion of even trying to decifer these plans, aarp has to confuse the issue even more and scare the heck out of us. Maybe if i was another senior individual, maybe i would have signed up and made the check out to this company!
I'm with the aarp secure horizons, don't they speak to each other and let them know that this person has signed on with one of their plans???
I don't know about anyone else, i believe this type mailing is deceptive and a totally unacceptable practice by aarp and must be dealt with!!!
