I have been overseas and noticed that my cap on my Optus account had been exceeded for past 2 months. Upon checking there was weekly charge of $4.55 from Dada Mobile not eligible for plan. I rang 1800178017 and was told that I had subscribed to their service and that I was receiving weekly SMS messages which I had been replying to. I advised I had never subscribed to their service, had never received an SMS from them (and have the phone logs to prove it). The customer service rep insisted I had. The problem lies, of course, that the charges are on my Optus phone bill. I have reported it to Optus. Surely the onus must be on Waala/Dada or whatever they choose to call themselves this week to prove that someone has subscribed or give full refund. I will report them to Consumer Affairs on Monday. Very upset that they could use anyone's mobile number to scam money.
