They are heavily advertising in airports. $2 for one hour of wi-fi, download the app to your ipad/iphone, which gets billed from your ITunes account, and then go. Problem is — no go. It doesn't work. And apparently this is true for a lot of people as I later found out, on feedback from the ITunes Store and even on Boingo's facebook page. The trick is, $2 is such a small amount for people to complain about, that most don't. But if hundreds or thousands of people around the world in airports try it daily, but can't get a refund (Boingo points to apple, but apple says it doesn't deal with "in app" purchases, so each company points at each other), that's a lot of free money for no service. What a scam!
