It's a scam! - Boingo wirelsss

You know those shady online ads that offer you a good deal, and then sell your credit card information to other companies. Well, Boingo doesn't do that (or maybe it does, who knows). What Boingo does though is rip you by charging your card every month for a one-time service. Their advertisements are worded carefully to create the perception that it is a one-time charge, without actually saying so (or else they'd be sued by now). It would be easier for you to find a needle in a haystack than to find out how to unsubscribe from Boingo. You have to call 1-800-880-4117 and ask the operator to close your account.
Boingo's services are available at "select" airports and Starbucks. Who cares about having Boingo at Starbucks. I anyways get free wifi at Starbucks, and Boingo doesn't work at the airport that I fly out of. I made the mistake of not carefully checking my statements every month and ended up paying a lot. The day I installed Boingo I had the most expensive 10 mins of internet access ever, $100 over 10 months. They know customers will be mad when they call to unsubscribe so as a gesture of goodwill they straight up return you your last bill, but that hardly covers for all the extra money that you've already paid them.

In a nutshell, Boingo charges you even if you don't use their service one bit. Do the people at Boingo not have any qualms about such dishonest billing? I guess not.
