In I received books from Doubleday. I can't recall now if I consented but I do know that I returned the books with a letter telling them that I didn't not want to participate. That same year, my husband passed away, I had triple bypass surgery and was in the hospital/nursing home for five months.in I sold my home and all my belongings and moved to a retirement community.
Doubleday was the least of my thoughts in my very trying time. Now, my account has been turned over to Penn Collection Agency.
I wrote them explaining my situation but have not heard back. I have an excellent credit rating and that is my main concern. Since it affects my credit rating I will certainly contest it, but in the mean time I am very disturbed about how Doubleday operates. I did not pay the amount they are asking for because I returned the books and asked them to stop sending me books. I am sorry thay I don't have that proof any longer. I hope you can help me protect my credit. Jo C.
