A young woman (about 18-20 years old) came to my door at
9:15 P.M., selling magazines and books. She claimed she was earning "points" for a trip and only needed to sell a couple more books to reach her goal. I puchased $55.00 worth of books. The young woman told me it would take a few months before I received the books, so not to worry if I didn't get them right away. I forgot about the books for a while, but recently checked my bank statementa and discovered that my check was cashed, but still no books after six months. I couldn't find any way to contact them, but saw all the complaints about them on the internet. I should have known better. A responsible company wouldn't send a young woman out that late at night!
