Poor service from quality company

I've used Gilt Groupe for the past year and made several purchases. This past December I bought a picture frame with beveled glass that cost $150, it's for a relative's Birthday this August. I only bought it that far in advance due to the emails that Gilt sends out, it would have been the perfect gift. When I went to open the nicely boxed and linen wrapped frame, I noticed the beveled glass had chips, I even cut myself on the glass. I'm glad I opened it before wraping as a gift. I no longer use Guilt. They stand strongly behind their return policy & don't take into consideration that some folks may buy the right item for a future event. I've learned my leason & will never shop on Gilt again. This is my first ever complaint on any company worldwide, that's how frustrated I was with their lack of attention for trying to be a high end retailer. Shame on you Gilt. I hope this at least stops one person from buying. They sure lost me as a customer. If they paid for the postage I'd send them back the chiped glass, they never even bothered to try and look at the item, that must show how little they care. You buy it, it's yours, even if it's broken
