My August cell phone invoice included a charge of $10 for an event described as third party charges. On enquiring I was told this resulted from a billing by Guessology. Until now I have never heard of Guessology, filled out any account for there service or text them any confirmtion. Yet a number 888-846-6939 I was given allowed me to unsubscribed. Speaking to a CSR, I was told I did not have a subscription and was given another number to call 877-707-6177. There the CSR stated that they were not Guessology but handled their transaction. She told me that I subscribed to Guessology, registering my cell phone after which a text messgae was sent to my cell phone with a password and I confirmed my subscription. I did none of these things. I had never even heard of Guessology before. When I requested that the charges be reversed, she told me that this was not possible. After much insistance, she supposedly confered with a supervisor who authorised sending me a cheque for $10 which is the amount charged to my cell phone. At my request she told me she would unsubscribe me and block my number from ever being used by Guessology.
I would call this fraud and to cap it off, it doesn't appear that there is anyway to speak directly to Guessology. How can a company get away with such actions without prosecution by the law?
