Xcel Energy seems to be "monopolizing" on the global warming scare. They've more than doubled their summer energy costs to consumers! They are a bona fide monopoly because they have no competition in our area, we're forced to use them for our electricity needs or do without electricity! At a time when Americans are struggling economically their rapacious greed has compounded the problem substantially. They do not care if you're ill, elderly on a fixed income, or low income working ilk, like our family, nobody gets a break. Doubling their prices for energy in the summer is discrimination in my book because only the wealthy are worthy enough to stay cool in the summer.
They're using global warming as an excuse to line their pockets. Fact. Global warming would be occuring even if mankind never existed! The warming and cooling of earth is a planetary phase that has been happening for a billion years! Anybody with a reasoning brain knows this! Xcel is using this as a means to make even more money and as a form of control. Global warming will continue unabated no matter what we do! We cannot stop it. Seems to me we should be concentrating on the solution and not the problem. This "Green" farce is just that. A farce! We need to prepare as best we can for the warming instead of wasting tax payer dollars trying, unsuccessfully, to slow it down!!!
Xcel wanting to control our thermostats in summer is outrageous! Smacks of Communism in my humble opinion! They should be ashamed of themselves, I would be. Because of their greed, my husband and I decided to put our home up for sale, the only problem is, we no longer have any equity. We're stuck with Xcel and their dishonesty. At least for the time being! I have a news bulletin for them, some of us DO have an I.Q. Above 85! What is next, water rationing? I, like many others, are very concerned about what is going on in our beloved country. More people need to make a stand against this tyranny because that's what it is.
