First off its been years so that's the approximate date I remember but may not be the accurate date. Second, I already had a degree in culinary arts and was trying to expand on that degree so I talked to a recruiter for the international air academy in Vancouver WA. The recruiter told me oh yes when you graduate we can get you a job on a cruise ship as a chef. So I did all the financial aid stuff got into the school and started the classes. About my 3rd day in the school the instructor told me they DO NOT do any placement on cruise lines. They only train for and place for travel agents and flight attendants. So I dropped out of the school and tried to get my financial aid back, but they had already cashed the financial aid check and collected it for themselves. Its been several years now and I am still fighting with fasa and the government to clear my financial aid debt so that I can go to a good school and get a degree that will get me somewhere in life. This debt due to this school scam has seriously hindered me advancing in life.
