24-Foot rental truck was ordered on my cell number. Then rental ordered confirmed on 7/25 with Budget rep. Named Mike at local location (805 West Higgins Rd. Schaumburg IL. 60195 Tel: 847-884-2080) for pickup at 7:30am on 7/27. We arrived at 7:15am and rep. Named Chet told us that truck was not ready its been broke down for couple days with brake problems and I cant help you because computer system is down and I am new trainee working alone without supervision and I don’t know this area or where our other rental locations are located.
Rep. Chet then calls rep. Mike for help and we were told that automated system called Mr. Goodman to cancel order due to no available 24-foot rental truck. At this point call put on conference call / speaker phone and rep. Chet was able to confirm on my cell phone that no call from any Budget location was made and voice mall was also reviewed by Chet not to contain a message from Budget warning of no available truck. At this point Mike was to come in early to deal with the situation in 5 – 15 minutes after 30 minutes later Mike had still not showed up to work so we started to call around to other Budget locations to find a truck and we were told by Jeanie Cain at location 420 East Higgins Rd. Elk Groove Village IL. Tel No: 847-437-4075 that she had a truck and would reserve it for us so we drove there and when we got there, she said you could no longer have it because we did not know it was already rented out for the entire week by a furniture store and she did not have another 24-foot truck for us.
So we headed back to first location where we started. Now Mike is there but he has no contingency plan to help us and provides no support other than to provide a smaller 16 foot truck at the same 24-foot truck rental price which will now cause further delay due to a smaller truck wont fit everything so we will have to make additional trip so we asked for increase mileage a no charge to us he says no way. So after 3 hours time lost we get a 16-foot truck but first one is pulled up for us but found to have a check engine light so we cant take that one so they get another 16-foot truck then there computers go down again so he sys he cant process rental without system running we asked him to do hand written contract he says cant be done. After about another 20 minutes Mike then goes in and says he will have to do a manual hand writer contract, which he just said he could not do.
Therefore, after 3 hours and 41 minutes we get a truck not what we need, wanted, and were promised. The lack of management skills, training, and customer support was incredible we can not understand why all Budget operation problems are put on the customer to solve in order for us to become a paying customer!
