I was looking for a gym to join of course. I walked by Bally's on Jamaica Ave in Queens NY they had a sign up saying. NO CONTRACT! Mouth by mouth payment. I talked to one of the sales people and said yes we have a deal where by you pay month to month for membership, and when you want to stop your membership you will have to give us a least a week's notice. I am on a fix income so this was something I could do for a short time. Anyway, I keep the membership up thinking I could stop anytime I got ready. I've been a member for two years now but recently I decided that I no longer wanted to be a member. I went to one of the Administrative people at the gym he stated that I had a 3 year contract. I exampled the above mentioned and he gave me a phone number to call. Which I did. The person at the head office said that I had signed a 3 year contract and if I wanted to end the contract It would cost me the above fee mentioned above. So I guess I am kind of screwed because the attendant did not mention that I would have to do whatever before I would be obligated to a contract. That's fraud and bait and switch.
