I was heavily pressured into signing a 3-year contract that was not explained to me at all. I went back within 3 days and said that I wanted to cancel and they said it was too bad because I had signed a contract and there was nothing I could do.
I kept my membership with only this club hoping that one day I would get out of the membership by moving away. And I did and I sent in all my membership stuff, such as a cancelation fee, card and contract. I got a letter from them that didn't either confirm or deny that the membership was canceled so I assumed it was canceled.
They cashed my cancelation check but the next month they kept taking more money out of my account. So I called (and was on hold for a half hour) and wanted to confirm that I was no longer a member. They said I still was a member and they had used the cancelation check to pay down more of my balance without telling me what was going on.
I have no contract because they "regret to inform me that they no longer obtain my contract" and I have no membership card (as if I ever wanted to go back there) so I can not argue with them and their rules. They sent me a copy of the agreement I sent them but that does not prove that is the contract I actually signed.
