Unexplained fees complaint - Mortgage payment
I had my mortgage sold to Bank of America from Countrywide Loans. I have consistently paid my mortgage on time if not on time with late fees. Last year I recieved a notice from my homeowners association notifying me that they were going to foreclose on my property because my association fees were consistently behind. I contacted Bank of America to see if my HOA had the authority to do this if, so if there was anyway they could assist me. Bank of America told me to fax them all of the papers I had from the HOA and they would let me know in 48 hours if they could assist me. Well weeks went by and i never heard anything from Bank of America so I contacted a lawyer who told me the best thing to do is to try to work a payment plan with the HOA which I did and have consistently paid them the settled payment. I noticed about three months ago Bank of America noted fees due on my account so I called customer service who transferred me to home retention, who transferred me to mortgage loans etc. Then back to customer service. No one could tell me why these fees were assessed on my account all they could tell me is that they were attorney fees and title fees. I asked what for and they did not know and submitted an inquiry to contact me with answers (so they say). I have yet to get an answer and these fees have esculated recently up to almost 1500 dollars. Everytime I call I get transferred around and around. Last night I got a call from Bank of America telling me about these fees and I asked again what are they for he told me the department that could tell me what the fees are for is closed. I asked for a supervisor whe I needed to call back on Monday. I asked what was the number was for the department and that I was sure I had talked to them. I asked him if he was even in the USA and he said no he was calling from India, so I asked who do I file a complaint with. I am so tired of Bank of America harrassing me for these fees but will not give me a written or verbal answer about what the fees are for. I am going to find every complaint website I can to complain and pray that i get some answers. I don't have money for a lawyer if I did I would just pay the fees and be done with it, so hopefully I can get some resolution this way.
