I received the phone call here in CT right before Christmas that my brother, Dave, living in San Diego had passed away. I knew I would have to travel West as soon as possible to take care of his affairs including taking responsibility for his apartment and a full recording studio. After exploring numerous option, I decided, out of respect for him and his life as a professional musician, to rent a POD, dismantle, pack up everything and have it "PODDED" back here to CT where family could take its time finding new owners for his beloved equipment. Working with PODS was like floating on a cloud every step of the way during this very difficult time. Every conversation with POD central was with a well-informed, welcoming individual... Quick to access my own information and even quicker to answer questions. Delivery and pickup in San Diego went smoothly, with drivers professional, yet friendly. Concern that many valuable items would make their way from West to East safely kept family on edge until POD arrived in our yard (the day after one of the biggest every storms in the east) with all contents in intact condition. I felt the POD become part of our family for the weeks it remained in our yard for unpacking and even took before and after photos. Using PODS to bring all of our loved one's treasures back home certainly gave us comfort, and a level of freedom to work at our own pace.
