We have always been pleased with the bookings we have made through Expedia.com. Credit card charges have always been exactly as indicated at the time of booking (and I always copy the confirmation screen with details and prices for my own record before getting the emailed confirmation). Thanks to the Expedia.ca representative I spoke with, we recently saved some major costs when we had to change flight dates on the first part of a multi-destination flight. We have enjoyed better service through Expedia than the service provided by some of our local travel agents.
