Hi, my name is Lisa, and I worked for the Kirby company for two days and notice they are rip-offs, My friend and i were looking up jobs on the internet and went to the quad city times.
Which is a news paper, and seen this add that said FACTORY OUTLET hiring call this number, at first i thought it was a department store, but anyways I called the number i asked what the company was called and asked what they did.
The person said the companys name was D Fiscus, and is located in Moline Ill, which is 35 miles from where I live in Muscatine Iowa, He dident mention what they did just asked if my friend and i could come up for a interview we agreed heck what could we lose with the job rate these days.
We go up there and the area distrutor told us he would do the interview with both of us together, well i was like ok, he started saying that they sell kirbys, I said what we're going to sell kirbys and he said yeah, well then he just started talking about him like how he was in the military and blah blah blah.
He said that he would give us a call to see if we were hired cause he had ten other interviews that day and had to decide on who to hire, I said ok, well he did and we where both hired emagion that, and asked if we could start Wensday which was two days later, well then he kept calling saying he just wanted to make sure we was comming and that they were buying lunch.
Well we went there for the training which he promise to pay 250 to 300 for training for the three days, and we agreed of course, the first thing that struck me when he only talked about himself the whole day, the second day we went there he stated to show us the paper, i was comfused becuase ussally they have you sign a W2 form.
So I asked him if they were going to need are driver license and when we was going to fill out the W2 forms the person said there was no W2 forms thats when I new something was fishy about this job cuase for them to pay us they need to take taxes right, and I live in Iowa and the Kirby company is in Moline so I would have to pay both taxes.
Well I went home and looked the company up on the internet and only to come across rip-offs so I looked in and thats when i found out about them ripping people off, so my friend and I quit the job only being there for two days, I called them up to see when we can pick are checks up and now there saying they dont have to pay us for the two days we was there cuase we didn't do any demos why so are famliys can be victims I'm glad we didnt cause then they would be harrassing are famliy.
So i called the labor board on them and hopefully we get payed cause its sad to see people going through all of this and not even get payed I'm glad i didnt work for 70 hours and get 50 dollors, so I'm telling everyone that is going to work for the Kirby company on 3407 23rd Avenue Moline Illinois think twice they are rip-offs.
