Wal-Mart
Ripoff

I totally agree that Wal-Mart is too big and gives too little to the employees whose hard work makes the profits. Quit building so many f'ing stores and share the wealth!

I have been with the company five years. I have sacrificed many nights and weekends for the company. They are profit oriented, not family oriented. They don't give a damn what they have to do to get their precious numbers where they are "supposed to be". They don't care about the single moms or working dads that have to work two jobs to make ends meet.

If they need you at work, you'd better be there. If there payroll number gets 1% too high, you're going home. They are obsessed with no overtime and yet they keep you there long days.
Sure, you have to take an hour lunch (they act like this is a gift to you), but actually you don't make enough money to eat out and it doesn't take an hour to eat leftovers. They just want you there an extra hour longer each day without having to pay you.

Yea, they have benefits, but if you're making $200-250/week and you have a family (or not)... It's hard to pay for the health insurance, much less contribute to 401K. Food and shelter come first.

They cleverly begin their work week on Saturday, so there is no time and a half for your weekend. They do give you that extra $1.00 an hour on Sunday. I would personally rather have the Sunday with my family. Every other employer I know of that works on Sunday pays double time. They can stick that $1.00 up their ass.

Speaking of travel. You're lucky if you get to fly. They usually rent a Greyhound, eat WM fried chicken from the deli for your "catered meal" and then room with some stranger from another Wal Mart to cut costs (or meet other associates as they put it).

I come to work to make money that I can spend on my family, not to cheer and squiggle for millionaires and certainly not to buddy up with strangers that I probably will never see again. I don't make a habit of spending the night with strangers. I don't think it's right for a corporation to be able to force you to lose your dignity for them. They don't pay me enough for that.
